I am a passionate educator and lifelong learner and thrive in collaborative environments with my students. For a while i did imagine myself coding for the big tech companies but I never thought of becoming a professor. Now that I am one, I cant imagine doing anything else.

My journey started in a little suburbian village, Völs, in the Austrian Alps where in a very privileged setting. I am not talking about financial wealth here, but a very safe place of natural beauty, tradition and great infrastructure. The forest was practically in front of our house and we played both outside and on the computers a lot. Some of the friends I made back then are still my closest friends today and I usually travel back to visit them and Family at least once a year.

For secondary school I commuted every day to Innsbruck, to the Gymansium Adolf Pichler Patz. For high school I switched to a technical school with a focus on Computers and Ecomomics. At age 15 I worked my first internship at a local IT department.

My Bachelor of Science I aquired at University of Innsbruck, in Management & Economics. I picked the program mostly because I wanted to stick with a good and successful friend as I did not have a clear goal for myself yet. While those years (including an Erasmus semester in Copenhagen, Denmark) were some of the best in my life, i realized that Accounting and Business Operations were not my passion. I wanted to work more with computers and code, something I have been doing since childhood.

I applied for a Master Program at Copenhagen Business School but fate had other plans — I got my acceptance letter two days too late and was forced to make another decision - to enroll at the Management Center Innsbruck for a Master in Management, Communication and IT. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise as I got to complete a double degree Master program and later PhD in Nebraska, Omaha, where I got to know my future wife. She found a professorship at Pennstate University and I followed her to nearby Bucknell University, the work place I have since fallen in love with.
